Retracing the steps

Before a seed grows,
Before a plant shoots from a tiny seed,
It must dry up and die,
And be forgotten for a while.
It must be discarded from thought,
And be written off the crevices of possibility.
That way it's reunited with the first power
That gave birth to the seed.
It's reunited with the forces that rule the world,
The spirit that  hovers to give strength to the weak,
And that which also saps energy from the strong,
So they can die,rise again, regenerate and be stronger.
To follow the steps from whence you come,
To know you've lost touch with reality,
To know where you first got it -only to lose it later,
There where first battles of thought were fought,
And sacrifices made,
There is where  you wanna go.
There is where you wanna  be.
As no nation just as no man can move ahead,
Without the knowledge of where it started,
As no power and no influence too,
Can come from empty space,
 But from deeds of days past,
So it is that to move ahead,
you've to turn and go back,
Retracing the steps and the import of days past,
Appreciating the place of luck in your current status,
And reveling on the power of forgotten times now remembered.
